NB Community Farmers' Market Service Day 4/15
Thank you for your interest in this service day!
The New Brunswick Community Farmers' Market is a project dedicated to making healthy and sustainable food from local farms more available to the New Brunswick community. One of its three sites is a community garden, Jardin de Esperanza. Give Where You Live invites you to volunteer with the Farmers' Market at the garden from 10:00am-1:00pm on Saturday April 15th and help them maintain the gardens. Tasks may range from seeding to pulling weeds to mulching; as a result, students are expected to wear clothes they wouldn't mind getting dirty as well as shoes (no sandals).
Students are asked to meet at 10:00am at the Red Oak Lane Bus Stop on Douglass; from there it will be a 10 minute walk to the site. Volunteers are expected to commit to the entire service event and participate in a short reflection at the conclusion of the day.
Bringing water and a pair of gloves is recommended, but some will be provided. Additionally, the market will be operating so feel free to bring cash or a debit card to support the Farmers' Market!
Do please remember to wear gently worn clothes and sneakers.
Registration is REQUIRED - continue filling out this form to confirm your spot as a volunteer for this service day!
